No Career Should Define You

When I was younger, I believed that having a great career and impressive accomplishments would make me happy. After many years working in companies and running my own business and consultancy, I realized that a career does not define you and is not meant to. Who you are as a person and who you strive to be is what ultimately defines you.

For many years, I pressed myself to fit into certain molds and navigate the business world, often swimming with sharks. I was amazed at the greed and insincerity that prevailed, all for the sake of money. Integrity was a rare find among the people I dealt with.

In pursuing success, I found myself going against the grain of who I truly was. I wanted to live in peace and be genuine with everyone, but the business world does not always allow that. Despite the challenges, I knew I was always a success from the moment I was born. I was fortunate, and success and wealth came easily to me. God has been my provider, and I am extremely grateful for all His blessings.

I have come to understand that we enter this world without titles or wealth and leave it the same way. The time and effort we invest in our careers may seem like a waste in the end. The people we work with will not be there in our final moments or at our gravesides.

Ultimately, a career should not define you. It is who you are as a person and the genuine relationships you build that matter..
